November 29 - Anti-Counterfeiting Goods Day

On November 29, 2018 in Hanoi the Vietnam Association for Anti-Counterfeiting and Trademark Protection (VATAP) in cooperation with the General Department of Market Management - Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) held an Anti-counterfeiting Goods Day 2018 for the purpose of propaganda and dissemination of legislation related to the prevention and fight against counterfeit and fake goods for people, while raising the awareness and responsibility of enterprises and consumers in the struggle against counterfeit goods, IP right-infringing goods in the context of Vietnam’s more and more has wider and deeper international economic integration. This is the annual activity conducted since 2007 when the Prime Minister decided to choose November 29 annualy as " Anti-Counterfeiting Goods Day”.

Leaders and representatives from the National Steering Committee 389, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the National Office of Intellectual Property and nearly 200 participants from VATAP member businesses were present at the evant. The participants listen to reports and exchange opinions on the situation of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, IP rights infringing goods of some sectors in recent years and the system of IPR enforcement in Vietnam.

Also at the anniversary VATAP has awarded certificates of merit to businesses and VATAP member enterprises which have excellent achievements in the field of brand protection.
