Hochiminh City: Training Court on Anti-Counterfeit Goods

On July 10, 2014, the Department of Trade and Industry of HCMC organized a training court on against counterfeiting and infringing goods for the local economic officers and the board of management of markets in the City.

According to information from the Market Management Department of HCMC (“MMD”), in the first 6 months of 2014, the MMD inspected 3,510 cases and found 2,690 violation cases, which included 851 prohibited goods, 744 smuggling goods, 160 counterfeit/infringing goods, 451 violations of labeling and 484 other violations.

Pham & Associates combined closely with the MMD for the long time in the fight against counterfeit goods, especially, in respect of Honda’s trademarks. Sharing thoughts on the situation of counterfeiting goods, Pham & Associates said “Previously, the fake goods were mainly produced and smuggled from overseas, however, the authorities recently found more and more large-scale counterfeit cases being produced in domestic”.
