"anvil, figure" of Intl’ Registration No.1190344 designating Vietnam is accepted to registration.

Notice No.2014/03 HBN17 dated January 22, 2015 of the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) that temporarily rejected to register the mark "anvil, figure" for the goods/services in Class 25 under International Registration No.1190344, designating Vietnam, of Gildan Activewear Srl , Newton, Christ Church, 17047 (BB) on the ground that the appled-for mark is confusingly similar to the cited trademarks "ANVIL" under Registration No. 85574 and "TOWEL PLUS BY ALVIL, figure" under Registration No.95880 of Anvil Knitwear, Inc./Gildan Activewear Srl., address 228 East 45 Street, New York 10017, USA was appealed by the applicant.

In the process of resolving the appeal, the NOIP issued Decision No. 2662/QD-SHTT on May 28, 2019 to cancel its previous notice of temporary refusal of registration. The reason for this was that the owners of the two cited trademarks No.95880 and No.95880 have assigned their trademark rights to the applicant and the assignment has been recorded at the NOIP. The cited marks therefore are no longer a reason to hinder the registration of the mark "anvil, image".
